I don't see why not, but they should have tempered it with stories of people who have lost, big time, from CFDs or spread betting.

As one of the comments suggests, it's just a form of gambling for some people.

Sounds like the latest manifestation of day-trading to me.
Next we will have stories of how people have lost their houses doing it and then demand redress from the facilitators for letting them do it. Remember the man who sues his bookie for allowing him to gamble on the gee-gees?

stock,fx, securities all come with great risks! if you know about this system, fine, you can make some money, if you not, better not to touch that, your hands will get burned. bottom line is, no matter how good you are, at the end you will loose your money, you can make money before, but by the time you will loose your money in those markets. That market is not for small players, there are wolfs hunting for those sheeps to rip their money off....

Not in any detail, but he does say that " Overall this winter I’m about even in terms of profits and losses ", and the article goes on to say that research indicates that only one in five spread bettors makes money.

I remember reading the Lex column in the FT about spread-betting a few months back: (from memory) typical spread-better is male, aged between 25-40, has £10,000 to 'risk'; most spread-betters lose money and blow their account: I wonder if they come back for more:rolleyes:
