Dell are rubbish IMHO. I have never met anyone with one that was 100% happy.
I'm 100% happy with the one I've got. Mind you it's a works one so I didn't actually get a choice but I can't fault it. The one before was also a Dell and that was a little more iffy as it didn't like booting if it had been cold at night.
Personally form personal experience I think Lenovo (IBM), Toshiba and Dell are all OK. Apples are OK so long as you put Windows on them.

Wouldn't touch HP/Compaq - had 2 and had lots of prblems with both (motherboard, screen, hard drive failures.0
