Needs instant access, not sure how long it will be invested for. Would like something non-risky, ISA allowance for this year used up.

Has to be the best savings rate you can get. Kaupthing Edge offer 6.5% as do Alliance & Leicester.0

Thank you very much, I've never heard of Kaupthing Edge before, has anyone had any experience of them? I'm not a huge A & L fan after difficulties with them last year I moved my account. Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:Member no. 920 - Proud to be dealing with our debts0

There is no investment option that meets your requirements. You should stick with savings.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Kaupthing are an Icelandic bank. Well respected and, importantly, covered by the FSA rules and compensation support if they go bust.0

Kaupthing are an online bank only
Kaupthing Edge is an online trading name of Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander, a UK subsidiary of the Icelandic bank Kaupthing.
Kaupthing Edge currently offers 2 alternatives : an easy-access savings account and a fixed-term deposit account. Both are managed over the Internet.
Kaupthing (the bank) does offer other types of accounts, but not under the name Kaupthing Edge.
(Think of Kaupthing Edge & Kaupthing (or KS&F) as First Direct & HSBC, or Smile & the Co-operative Bank, or Cahoot and Abbey - some companies prefer to brand their online products separately.)
The link below summarises things :
http://www.kaupthingedge.co.uk/About/KaupthingEdge.aspxImprudent granting of credit is bound to prove just as ruinous to a bank as to any other merchant.
