Torbay have just set up their very own non profit making online auction site for local Charities.:T It is still in its early stages, but non the less more and more groups are signing up to it.
Local charities register and advertise their goods for free with 100% profit going back to the charities themselves.:j
It is also open to other members of the public for a small fee. Why pay more than you have to to sell your bargains
It's a great idea and unlike other internet auction sites, all the goods are locally based and can be picked up thus saving on postage too!
What a good idea it would be if other councils picked up on the same idea and all linked together!
Why not take a look at www.torbuy.org.uk and nobble your council into taking the idea up!

Hey,
Just incase people are un-aware the site has recently gone through a few changes and from now until march 2011 it is now completely free to list and sell items. No listing fee's or final sale fee's.
Anyone who registers and sells items between now and then will get free listings for the life of their account.0
