My Egg balance has vanished. Any ideas?

I've had an Egg card for many years now, but a few weeks ago it stopped working. I assumed this was because I was one of the thousands who'd had their account closed by Egg. I never received a letter telling me as much, but as I was moving house at the time it's possible the letter didn't find its way to me. Or maybe I just assumed it was junk mail and binned it.
Anyway, I logged into my account a day or so later and everything looking in order. My balance was still there and looking scary, and there was nothing to suggest my account had been cancelled. I came to the conclusion that my card being declined had just been a technical glitch and forgot all about it.
Then today, I tried to use the card again, and again it was declined. I tried logging into my account on the Egg website and it didn't recognise my details. So I called them up and without any prompting was asked for my name and address. I didn't even explain that I was having trouble logging in. In fact, I only managed to speak to someone in the call centre by telling the automated system I was NOT an Egg customer!
I gave the guy my address and he said it didn't match with my name. So I tried an old addresses and bingo! It turned out they had the address I used when I first got the card. Now, I know for a fact I have updated that twice in the past few years, so something was amiss. The Egg guy asked me for a new password, which I gave him, and told me I should now be able log in as usual.
I went back to my PC and logged into my account. Much to my surprise, the following message appeared when I tried to view my balance: "You have no Egg accounts to display at this time."
What's happened? Has my debt disappeared? Is it still there but I can't view it? Surely this can't be the case. Even if my card has been cancelled, I should still be able to see what I owe. If anyone can offer any advice, I'd love to hear from you.

I would call them back and ask them to check the settings again. It sounds like a problem at their end and its doubtful that any advice here would solve the problem.0
