Chasing missing competition prizes

I don't know if anyone agrees, but I thought it might be interesting to start a thread where we share tips on chasing competition prizes that have not arrived. I have found this to be fairly painless in most cases, but there must be examples where the competition promoter is difficult to contact or does not respond. In any case, information on both successes and failures would be a welcome aid in deciding which competitons to enter.

I have to own I've been lucky so far."Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0

Ive been lucky also, a couple of times ive emailed to see where something has got to, but have always received the wins without much fuss (might take a while, but they have all arrived!!!)0

I think it's a good idea.:) There's been a couple of things that took me ages to chase up a few months ago, and one that I'm currently chasing up though not getting replys to my emails. It would be nice to discuss it with others and to get some reassurance that you're not the only one!Back to comping!(Still hoping to win a...holiday!)0

I am glad I am not the only one to have experienced some difficulties getting prizes. I know of at least one prize I would not have received if I had not queried it, so it is always worthwhile chasing, provided you give them a reasonable chance to deliver first.0

I've had to chase prizes but have received them all in the end (so far).
I had to wait as long as 3 months for one prize.
I am currently waiting to hear about an XBox I won at the beginning of March which they say was posted Recorded Delivery, only I haven't received it

I am still waiting for a prize I won in an advent calendar comp with getmeadiscount.
Giant tube of retro sweets.
I'm not bothered as it is not a fantastic prize, but still a bit peed off that they bothered to email me and tell me I'm a winner to never send anything and then ignore me everytime I contact them!
Oh and my galaxy that I won in a text in. Dying for that to come as I made it out to my Fiance with a personal message in it so hoping it comes soon!!!

I'm still waiting for a magazine win from December of a Joy of Colour prize...consultation thingie.. still not sure what it is but have emailed people all over the show recently and no answers at all. My PC went down at the end of last year so any email addresses I had to contact them went with it. All i had was an email at the time saying congratulations I won..then one almost exactly a mth later which said the same thing..thought I'd won another one lol... they asked for my mobile number both times which I gave them but still no call...
....not sure I'd actually enjoy it anyway..even if I did know what it was LOL:j A-well-a bird, bird, bird...b-bird's the word :j0 -

I won a competition with Uncut magazine (boxsets of the wire series 1-3 and the soundtrack). Well the soundtrack arrived but 8 weeks later i was still waiting for my DVDs worth about £80!
Kept in contact with the magazine but kept getting excuse after excuse from a junior in the company.
A quick e.mail to the managing director, his PA, magazine Editor and Assistant Editor resulted in many apologetic e.mails and an apology from the PR company.
DVDs arrived next day with a letter of apology.
My advice is write to someone higher up in the chain if you can find a contact via Google etc.

Thanks for the tip on making a screen grab. Really useful if you have not been informed directly of a win.0
