Barclays Tax Haven ISA

Tried to open Barclays Tax Haven ISA today.
The website says if you are not an account holder you need to go into a branch. Went in to my local branch "oh sorry you need an appointment can you come back another time?" Well , I said, " if I cant open it now I will go elsewhere" so they then said if I could wait 10 mins I could see some one. Took me upstairs sat me down. Waited 10 min no show but given coffee, another 10min, no show, after half an hour got up and left. Tried to ring another local branch and got a call center.
They spend millions on advertising but when you want to save you cant see anyone. Do they really want the business?

I did Barclay's last year - over an hour in a branch on a Saturday.
This year decided to go for the best rate with the least hassle.
Already a customer of A&L so did their 6.25% ISA online - took about a minute:T :T :T
Well worth the £9 it's cost me in lost interest:beer:Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -

I walked into Bradford and Bingley City Centre Branch on monday to open one of the highest fixed rate ISAs on the market. ( first day of the new tax year ) Four staff serving people, it was 1.30, i got the impression that at least 2 hadnt been to lunch, i was in and out with ISA fixed rate certificate within a few minutes.
Problem that Barclays and Nationwide have is that they dont appear to trust their branch staff/advisors to open ISA accounts and bank the cheques.0 -

I don't know about that but when I just walked in my local Barclays branch with my mum on 17/06/2008 to start making with some investments, they treated me like a Celebrity, even I wasn't in very smartly dressed, having no appointment, no need to wait for someone to see me, nothing!
They did everything for me without me doing a single thing, all I did just give my bank details to the lady from Barclays as well signing my autograph, lol! She did all the rest, even she has cancelled all her customers appointments and spent all her time focusing on me instead. Offering me and my mum some tea and biscuits a couple of times, even I didn't asked for it.
In the end, my mum was very shocked and keep on asking me why I did have all this special treatment from Barclays, saying to me "You're a crook! You just walked in without an appointment and they just come to you without you doing a single thing, opening all 3 Barclays accounts just like in one day without any problems!! What have you done to them?" To be honest with you, I have no idea why I have got this special treatment as well, but it felt very good!0 -

you got special treatment because you was investing... the sales advisors take commission from the products they sell. They did it with me too. Banks are the worst place to go for investment advice0 -

Why revive it?0 -

Ah, I see! So I guess it's true then, about having lots of money, they are being much more nicer to you because you've got money and they treat some of the customers like time wasters when they are not investing with them or not having lots of money. That's the way I see it now and I feel very bad about the other customers on that day because she just cancel all her appointments at the last minute just like that all because of me and all the people was just staring at me.
Originally, I just wanted to open a normal Barclays Savings account for holding my money from AXA Sun Life payout as spare money in my own investment account, so that just in case, I can withdrawal money at anytime if needed for unexpected emergencies, you never know and I like to plan ahead! But my mum immediately forced me into making some investments with Barclays after the lady from Barclays offered me some investment plans and I didn't got the chance to have a think about the investment plans.
Did they opened the 6-Year Minimum Return Plan - Issue Y4 fund accounts for you as well Tax Haven ISA account?0 -

Because I just find out about this thread today while I was researching for more information about Tax Haven ISA account on the Internet using Google search engine and this thread comes up in the results. because someone had something to say. To which new replies can be made by other MSEers even if you don't like it?
Why do you have to say somehting and nothing against. Granted, a new thread by jonathan might have been better, but surely you aren't that pedantic?0
