Laptop/Internet help

HELP!:D

My laptop wont connect to the internet, well I say that, when I go to internet explorer is comes up with the error message that page not available, you may not be connected to the internet etc. I can get my emails through outlook express but cant access any websites at all.

The internet is working fine on the other computer (hence being able to write this post)

With not being able to access the internet on the laptop Im not able to acccess another website to see if I can download a different internet browser

I am definately connected to the internet (its wireless) as I have checked that plus have been able to download emails (hotmail emails into outlook express). When I run the diagnostic thing it links to it comes back with no problems

What can I do?

What kind of security do you have setup on your router? Do you have MAC filtering enabled? Why don't you plug the laptop into the router via your PC's network cable and see if it works that way? Double check that the wireless on the laptop is enabled and the security key is correct. You can disconnect from the network and reconnect to test this.
1st step plug it in directly and see if it works.

If you can pick up emails then I would say the problem lies with the settings in internet explorer. I assume you have tried a few web sites and not just whatever the default is?

thanks for the replies, have got it sorted now, I did a system restore to before an update it did this morning and have got it back
