Right, checked by price and by usage - both came up the same that npower duel fuel would be best for us. I used that cashback checker site and it's £40 through quidco, which sounds good! :)

Will now switch - eeek! Why am I worried?!!

Me too Seax!! I'm planning ways of getting extra cash again so that I can buy some scrapping bits and pieces when I want/need to as I have found that doing a little of that really really helps me feel better - just focus on that and don't overthink!

So I'll be listing a few things on Ebay tonight - couple of grobags and other bits and bobs. Won't bring in loads, but enough for me to get a couple of nice papers and more glue etc.

    HI Sea ...
I like this new positive diary and think it's a great idea. That's a job well done changing the gas and electric...I think the idea to plan one activity to look forward to is a good idea and could really help with the budget.
Can you get DSs milk on prescription or do they not do it at his age.I am lactose intolerant so I have soya milk and this is fine above the age of 2 years. and packed lunches would make a great saving for you and DH.
    Take care x

Will discuss it with the health visitor - am taking him in next week to have a check up anyway and will take about his eating issues anyway. Sophia had goats milk at the same age, but I doubt William would drink it!!

A couple of quick (and painless) suggestions from me:
have you looked into the prescription prepayment certificates - they might save you money and contrary to the name you can pay monthly for the yearly one.
Also I applogise if this is like teaching your gradmother to suck eggs but would a spending diary help at all? You might find where your 'spare' money is going.
    Good Luck anyway.

Thanks - think a spending diary might be the way to go! OH does get the pre-prescription cert for all of his prescriptions, but as I only have 1 prescription per month, it doesn't make it cheaper for me to get the cert.

Get frustrated sometimes with a SD but I will give it a go - don't know if OH will though!! I'll work on him when he gets home!! :D

Oh there are some lovely lovely people on this site!! :D

Anyhoo, decided not to list on ebay tonight as am going away tomorrow until tuesday and so don't want to end up with questions etc that I can't answer when away. So will list on tues night instead. Been checking money sit and have about £40 left - eek!! Have asked OH to check his account, as we should have quite a bit left really, but he also has to make payments to his CC (all debts in my name so DMP is mine, not ours) and that really annoys me!!!

Was thinking this week - my union has called for a strike in a couple of weeks over pay. Now, I've gone on strike once before over conditions when I was in London and am torn about what to do in this situation. While I agree that all wages should rise in line with inflation, I am also very aware that I get a very good wage and others who work just as hard and even harder don't so am in a quandary really. I am not sure that it appropriate to strike for this. OH is impossible to talk to about it as he just doesn't 'get' the whole union thing and my feelings about it all. Hmm....will have to have a good think about this one!

My house is looking remarkably tidy at the mo - really tried hard today to get things done! Very unlike me :)

Done several surveys too, but for the first time ever lightspeed ones have started to screen me out!!! Shocking!!

    Hope all are well :D

  • Well done Sea, it is lovely to see and hear of such a progression. I was wondering if you had tried soya milk? DD2 had an allergy to milk as a baby (i don't think the colostomy helped) However she was able to get milk on a prescription. I would certainly have a look at this and dicuss with GP, also they have a very cheap one i use from Aldi, it is unsweetened and she likes it on weetabix etc.
As a fellow northerner, i was wondering where the good weather has been today? Chorley has had a persistant downfall-all day. It briefly brightened up at tea time and i was very tempted to have a little walk, however on call taxi duties intervened.
Good luck with the exam marking, i am going to do some myself.
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:
