Bloomin Orange!

Not just a rant but asking for help.

Last night after having issues with my orange phone, and finally getting to speak to some one, the agent was simply rude and unhelpful, told me if i didn't ike it to leave etc, so I asked to speak to his manager, was put on hold and then told he wasn't available, i asked then for a call back, anyway the rant is because i didn't hang up straight away (was busy writing down names etc) an the agent had a massive sentence of swear words about me down the phone!!!!!!!!!

Discusted I informed him that I was still on the line and that he should go and get that manager now. Manager still to ring me back!

I just wanna know if this is something I can take further?

I remember a rumour I heard at a bank i worked for years ago - customer called to transfer money from her 3yr olds child saver to the callers account (the caller was the childs mother and both account holders) the agent put her on 'hold' only he didnt put her on hold properly and then proceeded to tell his colleague that surely that was stealing taking money of her kid and what a bad mother she was - with a lot of swearing. Anyways rumour has it that she complained so badly the bank gave her 5k compensation.

Doubt its completely true and dont think you will get anywhere. Worth a moan im sure - plus it will go on the individuals yearly rating and ruin his bonus (if any). Think though before you moan - did you deserve perhaps some of it what he said - if you were unacceptably rude and sitting quite comfortably behind the 'he cant touch me im a customer' line of thought and then heard words not intended for your ears you can hardly blame him. Did you have some choice names for him afterwards?!?!?
  • Orange are awful at times.

Do write to their customer service centre because I had an issue with them and I got a swift response with a cheque, an offer of a free upgrade and 3 months free lin rental, for not changing my name on my account.

Always better to put things in writing than on the phone, but if a manager does call you back, get their name and where they work (which call centre) to put in your letter.

    Good luck

they should record their calls, if not all of them then randomly picked calls. is there an orange shop near you? you might have more luck if you go and speak to someone face to face, i'd reccommend making a complaint about the phone call anyway, you might be lucky and they might have a recording ;)

i got a cold call from orange on my landline the other day, it was a call centre in india and the guy (i'm not exaggerating this at all) proceeded to talk AT me for over 10 mins without me getting a word in edgeways!
funny how i am apparantly a 'much loved and appreciated' customer yet they didn't know my name! fishy if you ask me!

I got one of those calls too.....I was patient and polite as always...told the man that I was quite happy with my current provider and wouldnt be changing....the man kept asking me who my provider was, but I wouldnt tell him, just repeated that I was perfectly happy with my current provider.... he then said "if you wont tell me what the f*** am I supposed to do" and hung up the phone...Charming!

that's why i was cautious, i actually got my contract through carphone warehouse so i expect i'd mostly deal with them, orange tend to text me if i need to sort anything out with them directly.

it seemed like the guy was offering me a handset upgrade and a landline calls package, i KNOW i'm not due an upgrade for a few months yet as i checked this recently. he seemed to get aggressive when i told him i was happy with my contract and didn't want anything, and he kept trying to take details off me to apparantly send me a package. when he realised i wasn't going to sign up for anything or give him any details he slammed the phone down sharpish.

he seemed to be very keen on finding out what i pay for my contract, so i played dumb and just said i'd forgotten.

very sketchy if you ask me, beware if you get a call like this, i'd imagine it's better to be a bit rude and just put the phone down!

    yeah thats not orange.
why would orange need to ask your contract?
its a common thing, especially in the last 1/4 of a contract
