Missing Fusebox

Hi guys,
any body know?
I went to a friends house to see their new baby boy when a bulb blew.
I offered to put in the new bulb and also check that no fuses had been blown in the box.
Looked in every draw, cupboard to no avail.
Where can the fusebox be located?
Anybody any ideas?

"Looked in every draw,"?
Did you look outside, Modern houses have the electric/gas meters outside.I find Viagra saves peeing on my shoe.....0 -
Its possible that the meter is outside if the house is fairly new but extremely unlikely that the fusebox or consumer unit is also outside. However, the fusebox/consumer unit should be within a few metres of the meter. Look outside for the meter cupboard and work from that if you find it. Otherwise, its just a matter of checking every room. You can't really say "It'll be in the hallway" as every house is different and it depends on where the supply comes in. Similarly, it may be at ground level or ceiling level, or somewhere in between. The obvious solution is to ask a neighbour with the same style house and sooner rather than later. Its no fun searching for a consumer unit in the dark after the lights blow with that 99p torch you got from PoundSavers! ;DHe huihuinga taangata he pukenga whakaaro – A meeting of people; a wellspring of ideas (Maori proverb)0

As said above no house is the same.I am a spark and have found them in the most unlikely of places.Especially in older houses which have undergone refurbs in the past.It will not be outside but could be behind fitted kitchen units or even in dead space in corner units etc. Will almost always be on an outside wall.AS adviced above check out similar properties as they are usually put in the same place when they are built.Good luck0
