Credit Record and Moving Home

How much does moving properties impact upon your good credit record?
I have been told by more than one person that moving more than once in a good few years can prevent you getting credit.
I ask, because we were in the process of buying a property, and due to a number of errors on the banks part, it was delayed and we may now have to pull out due to time restrictions from the vendor.
If this is the case, we will probably look at renting until such time as we find another property to buy. This could be a few months, could be a year, we don't know yet.
Do you knowledgeable people think this would look bad on my credit history or not?
Thanks

A lot of companies require 3 years address history but it seems many systems only allow you to give 2 addresses. Although we both have spotless credit history my husband had trouble getting a mobile phone contract a few years ago and I couldn't get a storecard I'd applied for as we'd moved 3 times in 5 years. We're just moving again at the moment so I made sure I applied for a card I wanted last month before we moved again rather than afterwards. I think sometimes if you explain your situation they might reconsider.0
