Tiscali's TERRIBLE customer service

My Mother was left with no phone connection after she was cut off by Tiscali without any warning, because the payment hadn't gone through. The reason for this was that the phone and broadband was in my Fathers name, and he passed away, which meant that his bank account was closed.
We are so angry because they didn't even call my Mother before leaving her with no phone line.
We have now spent around 2 hours trying to get through to someone who knows what they are doing to change the billing information.
Surely this is not the first time that someone with a Tiscali account has died. We just cannot understand how they can cut you off without warning you first.

if its anything like cables system. their computer system automatically puts a stop on the line when it realises no payment received, then when payment received it reactivates it within 24hrs.0

Yeah its all an automated system, unless they're notified by the customer it just see's a rejection on the direct debit & sets a time span before its disconnected.
I'm sure given the situation they'll be able to sort this without any cost incurred to yourselves.0
