Bootable CD

Just checking I did it right.

I have got a file I need to turn into a bootable CD.
I just used Nero Express and selected the relevant option - however this does not seem to work!

Any suggestion

What sort of file is it? What are you trying to do?

It's os x tiger disk 1. Me mac has packed up and the original install dvd ended up in a charity shop when we moved house (as you may guess my wife gave it away). I now need to run the utility option to see what's wrong with it!

for a mac it needs to be a bootable file for a mac. What file is it you are trying to run?

I think ultraISO can do it. You need to extract the DMG and then write it as a bin cue I think(it was a long time ago that we did it), then burn the bin cue with nero.
We did it about 3 years ago with my OH's mac(given to him by work),it had the install discs written to DMGs as they backed them up luckily (the originals got damaged) and we managed to write them back onto CD eventually. It's a shareware prog but you would need to buy it to get the full functionality.IIRC you can make 300mb files without buying so it might be worth trying it out first to see if that is what you want. There might be some others out there too that will do it. I vaguely recall something called DMG2ISO
