7.6% for £12000

I reckon i have found an account that all the comparison websites have missed !!

It is from the West Bromwich BS called the magic eight

OK you need to leave it for a year to get the bonus but its 1% better than anything else I have found

Next do I open a barclays isa @6.5% for this year or will there be a better option in the next week ???

All those other sites may have missed it but us MSEs have been aware of it for a while now.

p.s. it's a regular saver, so you don't get 7.5% on the max £12K for the whole year. Still a good account though!

I missed it needed 12 contributions but I wonder what the max you can open it with ?

..... I have found the thread on this now- West Bromwich BS 8% Regular Saver (Magic 8)


and as of yesterday it is still available but branch only NO postal

£1000 is the max you can open it with. It tracks the base rate too.

I originally found it near the top on the comparison websites, back when it was 7.85%.
Since then it now seems to sometimes appear on them further down the lists,
e.g. on Moneyfacts it shows as 5% and you have to click on the details button to find out it has a 2.6% bonus
down on page 6-ish of the list of Regular Savers

it comes nearer the top of the list if you look for accounts paying monthly interest
