A friend is having trouble with a replacement phone they've bought to substitute for a defunct one of their BT Synergy Trio 4100 system. (http://www.bigboxshop.co.uk/searchresults_detail.cfm?productid=409&gclid=CMTkmYfrzpICFQtQQgod7VQyHA) Apparently it has to be 'registered' in some way to the base unit. Is this a straightforward process or is it a technician's job?

Two minutes of a job - have recently done the same with a synergy 4500. The instruction manual which comes with the phone tells you how to do it. If you get stuck pm me and I'll copy my instructions to you0

Will do. It seems the replacement handset was bought on ebay and the seller is going to email the instructions. If he has trouble with them, I'll tell my chum I can ask you!0

There's a menu option to register the phone to a base unit. On the base unit in the cradle where the phone sits is a button you press as well.0
