User error... with 3 faulty hard drives 2 faulty mother boards, 3 faulty disc drives!!
No chance of user error, apart from thfirst computer i have not even installed any software of my own.
Any ideas of who I could contact within dell??

I just find it incredibly hard to believe that three hard drives, two motherboards and 3 disc drives have all been faulty - that is more than just coincidence in my opinion.0 -

Do you think he is playing rugby with it or something? It sounds to me that the engineer fixing the problem doesn't actually know what the problem is. Maybe it is the onboard ram or the cpu or a connector that is faulty. In this situation a brand new machine should be supplied IMO0 -

No. I said that in my opinion (which I am entitled to) I find it hard to believe.It sounds to me that the engineer fixing the problem doesn't actually know what the problem is. Just had the top man in europe dell contact me, as far I should be concerned! After a 10 minute conversation he states "..i would be the first person to pass this call onto someone else if i could", I let out a snigger at this point, he then becomes aggressive and starts telling me that I should not laugh and this will get me nowhere.
I eventually hung up the phone becuase he kept on continually interrupting me. I had warned if he interrupts me again I would hang up.
What a joke, I snigger at what he said not to be offensive but because my time is being wasted and then he takes the hump.
His attitude was bad if that is what happened, but your the one that decided to end the call without the issue being resolved - I can't see that working in your favour if you take the issue any further?0 -
I got a Dell PC about 3 years ago, no probs everythings been fine with it. Robt you are entitled to your opinion.
However I am no computer expert, if the hardware doesnt work that is not my fault, three engineers have now been out at various laptops becuase they are hardware problems, I physically cannot damage a harddrive unless I am throwing my laptop about....why on earth would I this??
I am fed up with the whole affair...the engineer came out today and replaced the disc drive and it seems to work for now, but for how long. I have had enough of dell and their service, I am sending a letter to them at their Bracknell headquarters after seeking advice from trading standards, the machines I have received are not fit for purpose. They also advised I should be try seeking compensation for the time I have spent waiting on dell 5 out of the last 6 working days have been spent waiting on dell.
The guy i hung up on was warned if he interrupted me again that I would hang up on him, this was the same person who hung on me the night before, he was no help, refused to investigate why I had so many problems.0
