Unless I misunderstood you, you just admitted in public to fraud 'to get us out of a tight spot'. I hope that there are no zealous off-duty policemen amongst the 300,000 subscribers to this web-site.

 To quote poor Mrs C, "self-cert on our joint incomes, acknowledging the other (single) mortgage and the rental income"

Maybe I'M reading wrong but to me, she's declared nothing but her honest income. She may not have told us how much they earn jointly, neither has she told us what she declared to the mortgage company so she's either
    a) (my understanding) been completely honest
    b) admitted to nothing

Either way, It's not very nice to talk to someone like that on their 5th post :naughty:. She retracted her suggestion, and you should leave it at that instead of picking at the bones. Now behave yourself! :p

Thanks for that Doozergirl ;) If it makes GDB2222 any happier, I declared the following, all with substantial paperwork evidence / references:
a My income and details of contract
b My husband's income and details of contract
    c Details of other mortgage
d Details of amount of rent and tenancy agreement
e Details of our average monthly outgoings
How honest and upfront do you have to be to avoid the guillotine?!!

Sorry if I misunderstood what you were saying. As you correctly self-certified your true income then of course you acted correctly. I apologise sincerely for any hurt feelings.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Can I just add that a wage of £13,500 per annum, is a disgrace. Of course I do not know what hours you do, or what type of work you do, but assuming you do a full weeks work, I would class that as slave labour. My personal opinion would be to find a job that pays your worth, and I am sure you are worth much more than that. Look around you never know. I really do not know how you live on that sort of money I really don't. Please don't take this as a personal slur. I wish you all the luck to find that mortgage, yes renting is dead money.

David - i really do find this post in bad taste - not everyone can be high flying city whizz's on £30k a year, do you not think if the OP could get a higher paid job he wouldn't already be in it? And if he wasn't doing the job someone else would have to anyway.

Nothing to do with the subject of this thread - but a touch of irony to Davidboy and Blue_Haddocks comments.

Appointments section of to-day's ST carries an ad for a part-time chair of the Low Pay Commission, paid on a daily basis.

    Rate: £493 per day
    - you couldn't make it up, could you!!

What gives ou the right to say that £13500 is slave labour? You don't even know what sort of work the OP undertakes, or what is the going rate in the industry. I am an secretary/administrator - not technically high skilled, but I work bloody hard for my £13200 - the good going rate in my area for this type of work. I do 35 hours a week, 42 miles round trip from home, and really enjoy my job (and about tobe made redundant for the second time in 9 years). Yes, I could do book keeping, accountancy, shorthand etc to increase my 'assets' but I'm unable to study them because of other demands on my time.

Yes I would love the £20/30/40k + as you obviously earn, but I can't and if you can't say something constructive about another persons situation then don't say anything at all.

amen to that! move to a small town and see what most people get, we're not all lucky beggars with 20k+/year pay packets.
