I have just read Pchelpman's post on this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=676747

Although I have Java 6 it's not the latest version. Can I get auto updates that will automatically remove the previous version on my computer?

If you go into Control Panel then Java and click on the update tab you can configure it to automatically check for updates and install them.

Thanks. I have now set it up.

It still seems you have to manually remove old versions though.
