Screwing/Bolting into Tarmac?

Looking to put a fence up along my border. The wooden fence post 75mm/75mm would go into a metal holder that would be screwed/bolted in.
However, I would be screwing/bolting into tarmac. QWould this be an issue? would it be secure or am I best to cut a square out and poor quick drying cement in (is there a thing) then screwing into that.
advice/experience would be welcome
thanks
John

Chances are that the tarmac is not very thick, and probably not have much of a base to it. You really should have the fence post concreted in to depth of around 18", preferably 24". You can either dig out for each post, and concrete in, you can buy bags of 'post' concrete that you just empty around the post, then pour in the water, (you don't even have to mix it first), and it goes off very quickly, or you can cut out the tarmac where each post will be and 'bang' in the post holders you can buy from B&Q, or other DIY shops. Personally I prefer to concrete the posts in, and not use the holders, I can never seem to get them in straight! You can then buy tarmac to make good around the hole.
Hope this helps.0
