Where to sell an old PS2?

I've got an old PS2 and want to sell it, nothing special, no box/instructions/games any ideas on the best place to do this? We have a game and a gamestation but have no idea if they buy them or how much I'm likely to get or if cash convertors is worth a try, anybody done this before and can advise? thanks, michelle

I would suggest advertising in your local paper or on Ebay. You will not get much for it from Game or Cash converters.

Gamestation only charge £54.99 for a used PS2 and that includes 2 games so I would guess they only pay about £20 for the console.

Ebay's probably your best bet, if you're careful. I guess it depends how much you want for it, and how fast/risk free you want it.

Cash Converters = risk free, no hassle, but you won't get much for it.
Ebay = potential risk, potential hassle, but you'll get more for it.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it
  • Hi Chocdonuty,

Seriously. Asda flog new PS2 for less than £50 every few months,
is it really worth selling? Give it to the kids next door or put it on the
For Sale board at your local supermarket for a tenner if you must.

The new version PS2 comes out shortly which will make yours
    worth about a fiver, then.

Dunno if Micro$oft have or not, but I think they concentrate on the 360 more than SONY's consoles :p:D

Re. the OP, I'd suggest ebay or maybe a car boot sale.

    Hi Bingo Bango,

    It's Sony.

And yes they still make PS2 - this is version 2 of the model. My brother bought
his daughter a new one this last Xmas.

Version 3 of the PS2 comes out shortly.

And they still sell PS3, too.

    Frank.

Interesting news you have Frank, were did you get the info from that Sony are producing a new version of PS2? What are its capabilities ? I find this hard to believe quite frankly.!

Why is it hard to believe? The PS2 is still outselling the PS3 in many markets, not sure about the UK, so if they can make a new version that is cheaper they're onto a winner.

Sales Figures from the US for example.

    Details of new PS2
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
