i'm surprised he actually come inside the house!
i've had valuations before (from the mortgage co) and they just did a drive by, and then compared like for like with another recently sold house.
imagine how many you can do in a day if you just drive by the front door!0 -
Gosh NC im one of the lucky ones then if he came inside the house:p .
What i cant get my head around is that only a couple of month ago we had another survey done on our property but the chain broke down. Our then buyers paid £500 pound for a homebuyers survey, why cant the mortgage companies use the surveys thats already been done.
, it all seems a money making scam to me. Ive already forked out over a thousand pounds on surveys and we still havent signed contracts.

Does he live next door? Did he write the report to send to the mortgage company and fax it off while he was there? Does he have profesional indemnity insurance?
While £300 for 15 mins work seems a lot, I very much doubt it was only 15 mins, plus he won't get £300. Some of that will be VAT, the mortgage company will want their cut, then as alluded to above there are all the overheads.
Further more he is probably only an employee of the company.
While it seems a lot on the surface it seems a fair price to me. (But probably a well paid business to be in)
That said £300 is a lot of money. Mr Max Mosley is reported to have only paid his 5 hookers £100 an hour for his 5 hour spanking session, so your buyer could have had a 1 hour session with 3 ladies or a 1.5 hour session with 2.0 -
This will now be my preferred method for pricing all major purchases, thankyou.0
