Hiya Dont know if this is right thread or should be on CSA bit.
Im currently on my own with a 16yr old and claim incap but income support pay me, its not much tho as they take my csa in account, what it is csa have re calculated my payments and my ex is paying me £506 a month its just waiting to be cleared from CSA accounts its due to me friday
(£236 are arrears) instead of £253 that i used to get, the new amount will cancel out my income support i presume, im in private rented so what happens with my rent will i have to stop it and start it again not too sure about that new housing thingie will i be worse off with the extra csa money.
Also would i still be entitled to get free prescriptions etc if my income support stops.
thanks for replies if anyone knows what im on about LOL

Can't answer for definite but by the looks of things, yes, the payments will probably end your entitlement to IS. If you call the IS department they will be able to number crunch it for you. Without IS you will not be entitled to free prescriptions any more, unless you are entitled under another category.
Not sure about housing, you would need to contact the housing department, I would advise that you do so ASAP as your HB claim is probably linked to your IS claim. However, if your income is low enough you will still be entitled to some help.0 -
thanks will ring IS and housing tomorrow0

If the arrears are for a period you were not getting benefits then they don't count as far as the income is concerned to determine whether to take you off.0

i will get 50p a week income support at least its not cancelled out housing benefit thanks for replies.0

Well, your 50p IS is all you need to keep free prescriptions, so that's good!
If you still qualify for IS you will almost certainly still get your HB.0
