Family Tax Credit which was replaced by Child Tax Credit. If you didn't have kids in the qualifying years, you're not entitled to it.0

i do have 1 child born in may 200o so would have been here in the qualifiing years so am i entitled to this and is there any other way to find out rather than trough this website0

It was called Children's Tax Credit and was introduced in 2001 until Child Tax Credits came in in 2003. It meant you paid less tax on your earnings and was not actually paid to parents as ctc is now
If you think you qualify contact HMRC.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -
How do you find out if you've already had this? Is the £520 figure quoted per child? No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Your tax code will have been higher than the single persons tax code in the qualifying tax years.
It wont be you that qualifies Gem but your mum or dad!:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Or I'll come round your houses and stamp on all your toys" The ONE, the ONLY, the LEGENDARY Gene Hunt :heart2:0 -

I don't know the ins and outs of this particular "entitlement" but do not use the website quoted in the OP but contact HMRC and do it yourself.
Despite its "official sounding" name and rather disgustingly the blue flash on the header to make it look like an official tax office website it was only set up in February 2008 and is a commercial company looking to make money from something you can do yourself. Same as the PPI reclaiming they also mention.0 -
Just to say to the OP I'm not getting at you for posting about this website, quite the contrary as it exposes yet another ambulance chaser to the unwary.
Fortunately as users of MSE we are all in the lucky position of being able to check this sort of thing out and have been given the tools by Martin for DIY

It was added to your tax code but in some cases it appears not to have been.
Contact your local tax office, or the one which deals with your paye and ask them to check for you. There used to be a form you can fill in and they will check back and see if you are owed any rebates etc, (or, I suppose, if you owe any tax!! )
Give them a ring and they'll send you the relevent form.
Alternatively, if you have kept you p60s or wage slips, your tax code will be on there and you can check for yourself.0 -

No as it wasn't actually paid, it just meant less tax should have been paid
If the tax payer missed out then you're due £1040 for two years. I advised colleagues at work and a few of them got the arrears paid which will also have a bit of interest added.
When you ring the tax office a lot of them will think you're talking about the current tax credits so just make sure they know what it is you mean.
Edinburghglass is right. Just another firm which has jumped on the exploitation bandwagon so they can take a fee. It's easy to sort it out yourself. You either are or aren't entitled so it's a simple claim to the Inland Rvenue (HMRC).I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -

Yeah I knew it'd be them! Me and my brother fit those years.
It seems to be the highest earner and Dad was SE so it should be quite easy to find out from them I'd think. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130
