rightmove and, for London and environs, findaproperty.com.

To be honest though I'm only keeping one eye on them, to see how long properties are sitting on the market (more like lying comatoze at the moment), and general price movements.

They're also a good giggle sometimes.

I was just pointing you to the forum. Look at both sides of the story.

EA's pay to join the website club so it depends which one is popular with EA's in your area.

Personally I feel that you need to do a search with google for local EA in your area and visit their websites individually. That way you don't have a narrow selection.

I type in name of town, e.g.

    http://www.leicesterestateagents.co.uk/

this always brings up a few links.

But I still find the local paper the best bet, I've yet to find a website that has all properties on it. I would insist on it being in contract that would be on website, and also that I had regular newspaper coverage.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

If your buyers are more likely to be local than from outside the area I think both high st presence and good regular ads in local property papers are more important than being on RM. Local buyers will probably know local EA's websites anyway. RM etc are better for people like me looking for a prop in another part of the country.

 There's a good possibility that people will be looking from outside the area as (not meaning to offend the local townsfolk) my house is at the top of it's price bracket for what it is, so most wouldn't be able/want to afford it unless downsizing. I moved here from London and found the house after three months of weekends driving around!

I should be reassured by your words, I know!

Thanks for that, I did look - the articles on the website were interesting and, though heavily weighted from a FTBs perspective, more sensible than some of the comments on the forums.

I'm grateful for the link but it doesn't really relate to my question. I'm not sure you read it correctly - I'm selling my house and asking where other people look when buying to help me use the right agents.
