The OP can't take their complaint to the FOS until they have made a formal complaint to Lloyds by following their complaints procedure. I suggest OP, you find a copy - look at your accounts terms and conditions or online - and follow it. If you need to send letter then use recorded delivery to ensure it doesn't get "lost" in the postal system.

There is no guarantee it will not get lost in the Postal system. The only thing Recorded delivery will offer is that when it is evenually delivered a signature will be obtained. However on some occasions this not even happen.

My advice is Special Delivery which is guaranteed the next working day or your money back.

Mable, I was not actually talking about the letter actually being lost in the post which is why the word lost was in quotation marks.

I was talking about the habit of companies, including some banks, of stating letters haven't been received if they are just sent by first class post. If you send the letter via recorded delivery while they may intially claim the letter hasn't been received once they know it was sent via recorded delivery they miraculously find it.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)
