I know where you are coming from but if you just offer 2 tickets in a thread where everyone excepts codes to lots of tickets when logging in, you might not be best liked by some people. And MSE does not like swapping in general, whereas FMUK does - thanks for the heads up, sparky61!

Thanks Sparky,Beate....theres someone on FMUK needing these tickets...sending him the link

As I never used others tickets...a quick question...the tickets will be on my name...does that matter at all?

I know this is pedantic but.......

You complain about people posting on the Code only thread comments with no codes, but where is the code in your post ??
You tell people to stop posting "sorry" on the code only thread, then you say "sorry I had to post this" - no you didn't. You chose to post it, no one forced you.

I couldn't give two hoots if people in their enthusiam/disappointment post comments on the wrong thread ( or heaven forbid a competition to get a free cinema ticket).
What really annoys me is people posting on the code only thread criticising others for posting there, not adding a code themselves, and then adding the phrase "I will delete this post later" as though that is THEIR ticket to break the rule they are just quoting !!!!!
Why is "No tickets left at Skegness" such an unforgiveable crime, but "stop chatting" isn't
Those people who subscribe to the code only thread and get emails and/or text messages will surely get them which ever "non-code" message is posted.

Sorry to let rip, but I have had a couple of bad days, and getting fed up with "nit-pickers" generally - not Webkami in particular.
I just wish people would chill out a bit. There are worse things in life that someone posting a non-abusive comment on the wrong thread.

I would like to add that I have managed to get Free Preview tickets to 2 films - thanks to ALL posters on both threads. They are the first ones I have managed to get in months, so really looking forward to them.

I will be back to my laid back apathy soon - I hope ! :D

P.S If posters wish to "inform" newbies that they have broken such a major taboo, why don't you pm the "criminal", rather than adding to the offence ??

Sadly you've missed 2 vital points.

Firstly the "By the way the clean list of cinemas for Hellboy is: .... " part of Webkami's post.

There isn't a code because it was a repeat of part of the Hellboy offer that had only just been posted a few minutes earlier - sadly the unformatted list of cinemas was just a "pile of spaghetti" that was all but impossible to read.

The original Hellboy post, very shortly afterward Webkami's, was edited and the formatted list provided by Webkami was taken and used to replace the "can't find a needle in a haystack" list previously offered.

Secondly a member that used to provide many codes and offers on the Cinema thread (I'm sure she's hovering in the background still :A ) tried the PM route of notifying "the criminal" of their offence.

AA posts "No tickets at Wimbledon"
    AA gets a PM
    2 minutes later
BB posts "No tickets left at Carlisle"
    BB gets a PM
    3 minutes later
    CC posts "Southampton's FULL"
    CC gets a PM

    See where I'm going ..... ?

DD, EE and FF to ZZ are about to find "No tickets left" and "FULL screenings" and might even post "I've just got some no problems at XXXX" and will continue the postings without batting an eyelid !!!
They don't know that AA, BB & CC have been "reprimanded" over the content of their posts do they ?

In the 13 minutes between Hellboy appearing and Webkami's follow-up post, there were 2 TOTALLY unnecessary posts - neither by a newbie.
There were none afterwards and he received several thanks.

It won't stop them from getting to see the film, if that's what you're worried about...

It shouldn't be a problem, lots's of us have swapped tickets before, I think it's rare to be asked for ID, in all the years I've been going I've never been asked, it is possible to change the name in your account and send the link and then change it back later, after the other person has printed it ;)

    Points taken Quoia,
    But,
1)I hadn't missed that part of Webkamis post, I just couldn't quite spot a code in it - I still cannot for that matter
2)I quite agree that postings NOT containing a code - such as Webkamis can be informative and useful to everyone, as are yours when you often "re-present" information in a more user-friendly way than an earlier poster. But often posters saying "code now working again" or "none left for Edinburgh" can also be useful - so why do they get shot down in flames because they do not contain a new code ?
I just find some people tend to ignore the "be kind to all posters" rule when they think they have a good enough reason. I don't think innocent, if mis-placed posting warrants it

p.s Just managed to get a third preview screening :T

Because, as an example, the Hellboy code had 18 cinemas to its name, if there was a post for each cinema telling us it's full, that would be 18 posts that land in people's inboxes as instant email notifications - totally annoying as it is something everyone can quickly find out themselves, and totally irrelevant really as it does not mean the code is gone forever - it often comes up again days later and people have to keep trying codes until they get their tickets. For this reason a quick post that a code is live again is good information in my book, but telling us that all the tickets are gone really isn't. That's what we have this thread for.

On FMUK, chatty posts in the codes section get either deleted or swiftly moved to Film Discussion, depending on the nature of the post. This way resentment can hopefully be kept to a minimum.

    ...............

Basically because they are totally pointless and meaningless.

I've personally, one more than one occasion, got tickets for my cinema just 2 or 3 minutes after there's been a post saying that they had all gone for my cinema.
Similarly I've followed the "code now working" within seconds of it being posted and it's totally untrue.
It might have been "working" for the person that made the "working" post but if they got the LAST TWO tickets for a cinema, then their action of requesting the last 2 tickets STOPPED it working.
I can't remember a single instance where a "code working" has EVER helped me.
    Pointless! Meaningless!

ANY SFF Code can STOP working at ANY TIME.
Similary it can START working again at ANY TIME.

It might be just 2 tickets that someone has returned (icantgo@sff) for re-issue.
Then again it could be another batch of 10 or 20 on ANY previously released code.

All I know is that A CODE IS NEVER FULL UNTIL THE SCREENING HAS TAKEN PLACE !!!

If I'm not successful when a code is first released, then I try it at random times over the next days/weeks. As new codes are added I try them all randomly. I can't remember EVER NOT getting at least 1 code to cough up 2 tickets at some point.
I'd guess that I've obtained tickets on half-a-dozen occasions late on the afternoon of the day of the movie.
Tried the code at 3pm, 4pm, 5pm - been sitting in the cinema at 6:15pm
