Is there anywhere online where i can find wiring diagrams, as i dont have a haynes manual.

You could try a search on eBay for the package called ELSAWIN. This is the electronic workshop manual that VW dealers use. It includes a full set of wiring diagrams (Current Flow Diagrams) as well loads of other information about the car including how to do a lot of the work.
ELSAWIN on eBay is usually in the region of £15.00.0 -
