Please help!
My friend has a problem with annoying grey box pop-ups appearing when he surfs the internet. An installed pop-up blocker does not stop them.
I'm sure there is a free download available.
Thank you in advance
Martyn

this may be Windows Messenger (not MSN messenger) if this is Windows Xp
Updating to Service Pack 2 (via windows Update) to gives you the option to turn this off (if they have not already done this)

Should a pop up box appear on your screen with the words "Messenger Service" in the title bar such as the one below, chances are that you have Windows Messenger Services enabled.

Easier way.
Start > run > services.msc
Find messenger, and disable it
Much quicker
This WILL stop those grey popup windows by the wayBrowntoa wrote:this may be Windows Messenger (not MSN messenger) if this is Windows Xp
