charity clothes collection scams

I thought this article was interesting re groups who claiming to be charities collect clothees and sell them at a profit !
thus depriving real charities and eroding confidence in who the real charities are !
offenders include Angel of Goodness, Angel of Help, or Island of Hope (so if I see those I'll fill them up with food waste and other rubbish - ha !).
"If in doubt, take old clothing direct to a shop or use a clothes bank."

I get at least one of these colelctions bags shoved through my letterbox, some weeks I get 3-4 of them.

Clearly there is no way that they are all genuine, if indeed any are. There is a big metal collection tin next to the bottle bank so I put all mine there. I trust that at least those are going to the right people.

That is an interesting article to read, backs up what I have figured was the case but gives more (potentially correct) info. Thanks!

We get a lot of them here - so I just reuse the bags as I don't trust them.

They're emblazoned with the charity names and logos, but many of them list a private company in small print on the back, so that makes me suspicious.

Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"
