Life Insurance query

Hi

I am looking to increase the life cover I have at the moment as we are re-mortgaging. We are getting an interest only mortgage of £85000. I know I need level term assurance but I am not sure if I need a policy which INCLUDES critical illness or 2 seperate policies, one for life and one for c.i.

Please advise.

Are you aware of the differnce between PHI (permanent health insurance) and CI (critical illness)?

PHI provdes and income until retirement if you can't work (any illness that stops you working).
CI provides a lump sum if you have a limited range if illnesses.

Personally I think PHI is more useful.
Do either of you have PHI at work?

you wouldnt normally buy 2 policies if you wanted CI and term cover. Critical illness cover is essentially an extention to a term life policy, so you can buy a term policy with, or without, CI included - one policy, choice of extention or not.
