I recently withdrew from uni and went onto IS and HB because i needed to give my kids extra support. I am a single mum. My 17 year old suffers from depression, 2 weeks ago he atemped suicide. he attends college 3 days a week and recieves ema, but finishes his course in june. I ahve to spend a lot of time with him as he is very emotional, can't cope with many situations and has lots of doctors/conselling sessions.
my 10 year old also has problems, mainly he continously soils himself (due to emotional problems) this costs me a lot in washing both him and his clothes, i also have to take him to counselling and doctors.
any advice on any extra monies we may be able to claim especially after oldest finishes college as he cannot cope with working.

Hi Grace,
Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time. I would look at applying for Disability Living Allowance for your elder son (and possibly your younger son too). If you contact CAB (or a support worker if you/ your son has one), they should be able to help you with the application forms.
Do you also receive Child Tax Credits? xGone ... or have I?0
