Yes it does. It states if the licence or SORN is due...
From my 3 vehicles...
1 SornedVehicle Status SORN Not Due
1 with current taxVehicle Status Licence Not Due
The database, is also not instant as some people really do believe, this is my 3rd vehicle, which tax disc expired on 31/3, it was replaced late last week, yet the database says...Vehicle Status Licence Due to Expire
Of course, 14 days grace doesn't exist

The details shown on the website are below. The v5 for the car is registered to the correct address. The previous owners were my other halfs mum and dad so the only other place the post could go is their house. Which it hasn't.
It doesn't mention anything about SORN. The reason i didn't receive a reminder is probably because their systems think the car is taxed. It might well be but my gut feeling is it isn't. Will ring them tomorrow and see what they say. I'll be honest with them and say i'm confused :-)
The enquiry is complete The vehicle details for are:
Date of Liability 01 10 2008 Date of First Registration 15 02 2002 Year of Manufacture 2002 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1299CC CO2 Emissions 165g/Km Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Licence Not Due Vehicle Colour SILVER Vehicle Type Approval M1 The information contained on this page is correct at the time of enquiry. Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle 6 Months Rate £79.75 12 Months Rate £145.000 -
The details on their website aint always right

Just a quick update.
I called the dvla.
someone bought 12 months car tax on my car on the 2nd Oct 2007 at a postoffice using a V10 not the reminder.
It is 100% taxed. We can claim £35 back because of the overlap :-)
It def wasn't us who taxed it. Don't even know what a v10 is.
The dvla have told me to just get a duplicate.

The V10 is the form to use to apply for a tax without the reminder. What will have happened is that the person who bought the tax had sloppy hand writing and their tax disc shows their reg but the data entry team will have entered yours onto the database.
DVLA often make mistakes, back in 2006, my tax disc was entered as valid for 3 months, which led to my vehicle being removed!
Apply for the duplicate but it's likely to show another reg, otherwise, theres another car with your reg, your v5, an insurance certificate and MOT doing the rounds!0
