B4u.co.uk Help with removal rights needed

I registered with this site yesterday as I assumed I was able to send "free" SMS from the site.

I inputted all my contact details etc and just before I sent my first text I thought I would read the T&C's (go on tell me I should have read them first!) and to my suprise it read as below;

6. SMS messages sent to you by B4U
6.1 You consent to B4U sending to Your mobile telephone premium rate SMS marketing messages (‘the SMS Messages’) that contain information about B4U’s services and various special offers that B4U advertises to its users from time to time.
6.2 You confirm that you have provided B4U with your mobile telephone number and that it may be used for the purpose of sending the SMS Messages to You.
6.3 The SMS Messages will be charged to You through your mobile network operator at the rate of either £1.00 or £1.50 per message.
6.4 The number of messages to be sent to you under this clause is not to exceed four messages in any one calendar month.

So it is not free!

I have searched high and low on their site as I want to cancel my registration and want my mobile number removed from their system, but cannot find a way to cancel? There is a page where you can "unsubscribe" to their email newsletter wither by completing the form on the website, faxing them or "for urgent removals" you can call the premium rate number for a 5 min call!

I have sent a fax to the "email unsubscribe" number asking for my account to be cancelled and for all my details to be removed from their systems but so far no reply. I just logged in this mornig so I know the account is still live!

What are my rights..please help as I can see that first premium text coming through imminantly!
I am a NewNet Newbie 8MB £12.99 per month for broadband...no complaints so far!

    I get those emails from B4U too, but have never been charged anything by them.

    The 'free' SMS options seem to be disappearing fast. Freesmsmate.com has been down for the past few days. I now use boltblue, O2, and Orange, which are all free, and VGSMail which is paid for but only 4p per text.

    I have no connection with VGSMail.
  • I went on dadamobile for free text. Fair enough I thought I just needed to send a quick text and that was that, there were "free" ring tones etc so i orederd them but nothing came. Then I started to get texts saying a network message i had ordered could not be delivered as i did not have enough credit, thats why i needed the free text!!!!!! The first week was free and then you had to pay three punds a week thereafter which i read and knew about, considering the ringtones and wall paper didnt come to my phone i didnt bother paying especially because its also a rip off!
    i used the free messaging service to text stop to unsubscribe to the service ive been getting the messages ever since, therefore im not going to bother putting credit on my phone god knows how much it will take off me!!

    any help?
