I got a new Kodak 12 mil pixels for £150 (I think its cheaper now, from Currys).
Very user friendly, very snazzy looking, very slim & light & best of all the LCD screen is nearly as big as the camera.0 -
Don't get sucked in by the number of Mega Pixels, it' spretty much irrelevant if it's more than 3. Decide what features are important to you and then check out the reviews at

What do you need? Big zoom? Small Size? Waterproof? Big LCD? Without knowing these things you can't decide. If all you want is a very basic point and shoot you probably don't need to spend £150.
£150 will buy a very nice camera but it depends what you want. I just bought a Panasonic TZ3 for £150 and I'm happy with it but some reviews are critical of the noise reduction software.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

We just got a Canon Powershot IS720. Currently about £150 it's not the smallest camera around but its functions and photo quality are brilliant. If you want to just point and shoot and never use aperture or time priority or suchlike there may be better cameras for you but with the degree of control it gives you it's an amazing bit of kit.
Canon were doing £30 cashback on this too which if you can find makes it even better value!
Canon IS720
* 8.0 Megapixels
* 6x Optical zoom
* Optical Image Stabilizer
* 2.5" LCD Screen
* Super fast DIG!C III Imaging Processor with ISO 1600
* Face Detect with Auto Focus, Auto Exposure, Flash Exposure and in camera red-eye correction0 -
At around £150 I like the look of the Canon Powershot SX100.
Its 10x optical zoom beats that of the 720IS (6x) whilst matching it on virtually all other specs (with exception of an optical viewfinder, which it doesn't have).0 -
I've got this one and can recommend it. The 10x zoom is very nice and it's got all sorts of bells & whistles etc. (face recognition, image stab etc) which get some very nice results. I used it on a track day last week and was able to get some nice pics.At around £150 I like the look of the Canon Powershot SX100.
