I had two large orders, they took the money when I placed the order.
I am still missing two items one from each order. When I asked for a refund for the two items, they have told me I wasn't charged for them  . Does a shop like M&S really not know what transactions have been made on to someones credit card. They have suggested writing to CS with a copy of my bank statement. I could really do without the hassle.
I just wanted to make sure that you have only paid for the items that you have received. Check your orders!

If it's on your credit card, get on to the credit card company they should sort it out for you.0 -

This is very good advice, as the same thing happened to me in January. M&S emailed to say an item was out of stock with assurance that I hadn't been charged for it.
I most definately had been charged for it, and like emerlaldbugle thought it was rather worrying that they didn't know what they were charging customers' cards, so although it was only £1.50, I emailed customer services.
It was like talking to brick wall!! I ended up sending three or four emails and got nowhere. My last one listed all their transactions on my card that month, at their request, and I never even received a reply! The transaction in dispute was £39.00 on my statement and they insisted it was £37.50 ???????????
I was angry at the time and thought of writing to Head Office, but in the end I could't bear to waste anymore time.0 -
I bought a bed last September in one of their offer periods (0% for 2 years with 30% off leather furnitiure).
Arrived in December and was too big (catalogue said it was 215cm long and was actually 245cm long, so returned under sale of goods act - not as described) finally got it exchanged for a divan last week but my 0% account still hasn't been updated to reflect the diffeerence in price.I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

Just highlighting this again, after checking my statement, they have overcharged me by £36.
Two reasons
1) card debited when order placed, then debited again when order despatched.
2) card debited when order placed, no refund given for items not in stock and never despatched. :mad:0 -

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but having bought two pieces of furniture from M&S recently, I discovered
- buy online, pay when item is being dispatched
- buy in store - pay day ordered!
May as well look in store, go home order online and have money is your account for the 12 weeks lead time, rather than M&SLBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!
