tax credits child/working advice/comments welcome

ok wellll i have been having a time with tax credits!!
my child is now three years old for the first month all was ok went into my bank no prob when he was two months old they had a computer system crash and since then we have recieved them on giro slip through the post i have asked several times if they could put it so it goes into the bank again always been told no then one day someone said yes and are sorting it out for me now.
basically last month i got a letter to say they had over paid us £7,312.14 or there abouts i rang around and finally they siad it was because we were not on the system and that it has been written off.
then today i check my bank and for some crazy reason they have deposited 2154.12??!! whats that all about its not like they are similar figures to what we recieve!! i have rung them up well 8:30 this morning they said that they would get the manager to look at it and ring me back this morning its now goodness knows what time and still noone has rung me back!! i rang back about lunchtime and he said that the computers had been down for three days due to a system update and that they were really really busy so no guarantee he will ring me today i mean!!!

any thoughts?
sorry its an essay!
you see the longer it sits in my bank the more tempting it is to use it which of course i cant!

How long have you been claiming Tax credits?
Did you have a claim prior to the birth of this child?

    Hello tinkerbell1978,

Sounds like their was an error on your claim which resulted in you receiving something called 'manual payments'. These payments are not made against the computer and result in someone having to profile them to your schedule- if this is not done the computer thinks you are not receiving your entitlement and starts giving large one off payments. Someone will profile all the payments shortly, add this to the one off payment and they will then write to you and say you have been overpaid. My advice... do not spend it.

Get it out of your current account and put it somewhere that you can`t easily take it out. Once they get it sorted they can have the money back and if it`s yours then its a bonus!
