Council Tax question

A year ago we moved everything out of the house leaving it empty and unfurnished, and moved to a European country. As a result, we got a 6-month exemption from paying council tax. We now have to start paying again the full amount, in monthly instalments.
Needless to say, the UK house remains unsold. If we move back in again for a while, say for 3 months, can we afterwards have another go at claiming the 6 month exemption. Nobody is any the wiser where we actually reside, no-one ever checks.

You need to be resident for 6 weeks, however we would send someone round to check that someone is actually living there in your circumstances, especially if there was no change to your contact address.
If you need any further info, I will be happy to help

They do check - my landlord claimed this whilst the house I now live in was being done up. People from the council came out three times to check. Having said that the second and third person didn't know the first one or second one had been out already!!0

So if I move back into the house, as resident for 6 weeks, I can then claim another exemption period thereafter?0
