nokia 6500c battery cover problem

hi everyone first post here, due to the renewal of my mobile phone contract i have a new nokia 6500 classic. but icant remove the battery cover to put in new batt! there are no buttons on the outside to press, i was told theres a certain was you have to do it, maybe squeeze sides and pull down but wont budge, anyone else have this phone that can advise me, thanks, feels like it might break if i force it xx

On the slide at the end where the power plugs in is a small square that has the symbol for "eject" on (triangle with line under it). You press that in and one edge of the cover pops up. Might need something to press it in as it's a bit small for fingers to do.0

a gentle push at the middle of the upper part of the battery cover and slide the cover downwards. Exactly as shown on the manual. Hope you get it sorted.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

no its the classic, no slide, also no eject button on side, there are absolutely no buttons on sides or back. i have tried sliding from middle of battery but does not move at all. 3 advised bring it to phone shop, also checked nokia forum where a lot of people have same problem but none of the advice has worked. might have to send it back, am sad. thank you all for your help.any more ideas appreciated0

I've had this problem. The easiet way I find is to grab the phone in both hands, one hand near the top on the metal casing and one near the bottom around the plastic casing then just pull it apart. Not ideal but works for me.0
