Again its another case of folk complaining coz ur told before hand... what u dont know dont hurt u... what next?? the metro, london lite and the london papaer are free?? LOL!

This is a vent board. 11% rail fare increases were quite enough without sneaky extra charges. If they'd told me right at the beginning that they'd added the charges, it wouldn't have been so annoying. But instead they just spring them on you at the end...

What's the point of a vent board if it's not for venting about things like this.

ur like those people that complain about ryainair card & baggage, e.t.c charges even thought u are told throughout the process of ordering... then pay and come on here ranting n raving about being 'robbed', yet u tick the t&c's... i remember sum1 sayin 'but u have to click it in order to pay/go ahead.

RyanAir is fabulous. Cheap tickets in advance, I check-in in advance, and only carry hand luggage.

Or I fly with my company, who are kind enough to pay business class on posh airlines :D

    ever thought of walking?!

The station is the other side of town, so 1 hour 15 minutes walk each way. I could walk it, but I'm trying to put on weight, not lose it!

whats ur point?! i aint bought off them for about 2 years... mainly coz i dont advance book anymore and can get a walk on YPR saver rtn discount for only a lil more than an advance 'specific time n dates' ticket, or buy at local station at same advance price if i used that option.

YPR... before I'd even read that, I was going to guess your age at about 18, as only under 20s seem to type with txt spk! I'm a bit old for a YPR card now... but yes, I used to benefit from their cheap fares too. But now I have a car, as public transport in the UK is generally rubbish compared to other countries.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Arriva trains wales uses the same system as the trainline and doesn't add charges either.

  • Try National Express East Coast site, the search engine for cheap advance fares is easier to use !

Just found this thread via the search box as I was sure there would be one!

I am quite stressed as I ordered a single ticket online on Saturday from Qjump, and they debited my bank account on Monday. Having paid £1 for first class post, I am perturbed that as at today (post already been) the ticket has not arrived. On investigating their FAQs I see they allow themselves five working days - so the first class post charge is a bit of a scam isn't it?

I also note that their contact number for enquiries is 0870, and I have been unable to find an alternative.

If the ticket doesn't arrive tomorrow I am in the proverbial, as I am leaving (by car) on Saturday and need the ticket to return by train next Friday.

I've never had any problems with them in the past, but won't use them again - it's caused me too much stress.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

Have a look in your confirmation email, there may be something about this - I remember there being some information in the past about if you do not receive your tickets. You could try looking on saynoto0870.com for an alternative number but I dont know how much luck you will have with that.

As for charging on thetrainline.com, I dont use it anymore, I use fgw or qjump as I agree it is stupid to charge 50p to collect your tickets from an automated machine.
