Hi, Just looking for some advice on how I would go about connecting a pc that is in the bedroom to a TV in the lounge and if possible control it via a wireless keyboard from the lounge.
Is it possible? and what would I need?. Thanks

A tv card in the PC http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hauppauge-WinTV-NOVA-T-500-Digital-Freeview/dp/B000I1RHWA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1207673216&sr=8-1 and a long cable more than likely. Though this depends upon which connections are available on the tv as to which cable you will need.
As for the keyboard, I've got one of these with my media center: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Keysonic-Notebook-Wireless-Frequency-Integrated/dp/B000L10Y5E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1207673288&sr=1-1 it works well.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -

I don't think that's what the OP is after; the Nova-T-500 is a DVB-T (Freeview) tuner, not a TV output card.
If they have a modern TV, they probably have a VGA and/or HDMI input, which will be easiest and give a good picture. Next best thing is a VGA to RGB SCART adaptor (home-made or http://www.keene.co.uk/electronics/multi.php?mycode=KST1) together with some software to tweak the output mode so it's a real PAL signal. Last, and most certainly least is using a Composite or S-Video 'TV Out' from a VGA card. Note that all of these have relatively short maximum cable run lengths before the signal degrades, so moving the TV to the lounge is probably the best bet.
If the OP insists on leaving the PC in the bedroom, they'll certainly need to look for a Radio Frequency (RF) keyboard, rather than any kind of infra-red device, in order to get the range. And even then, it might be tricky, depending upon the construction of their home.0 -
Your right, I dont want a tv card for PC. I want to use the TV as a monitor for the pc which will be upstairs but want to control it from the sofa.0

there are 2 or 3 different ways depending on both your computer and your tv.
the cheapest being a simple scart lead + audio 3.5mm jack £10-£20
the best being a proper £50 + kit for better picture quality0
