Netgear Router Problem?

i hope someone can help me as i have just set up my free netgear wireless router from virgin media cable netgear wg614 v6.

it is up and running fine but when i go to the shieldsup website at grc.com to check the security for this router it comes back with the following info:

Ping Reply: RECEIVED (FAILED) — Your system REPLIED to our Ping (ICMP Echo) requests, making it visible on the Internet. Most personal firewalls can be configured to block, drop, and ignore such ping requests in order to better hide systems from hackers. This is highly recommended since "Ping" is among the oldest and most common methods used to locate systems prior to further exploitation.

this was previusly always closed when i had just my virgin cable modem and was not a problem and was passed but now it has failed this test.

i am a total newbee to wireless routers and this is the first i have and i have set up the password and username fine and the security is showing green.

once again thansk for any help and advice anyone cam give me in layman terms please!!

Go into the router setup. On the WAN setup page there should be a tick box next to "respond to ping on Internet port", make sure it isn't ticked.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

Log into the router with your web browser using the address it tells you in the setup instructions. On the page you get, navigate to the WAN entry on the left and it's all in there.

    WAN - Wide Access Network..

type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar of your internet browser, that should bring up the router login page.

If it doesn't do start, run, cmd in windows and then type in icponfig /all make a note of the IP address for the default gateway and then type that into your address bar. That should bring up the login page.

The default ID is admin, I think the default password is password unless Virgin have changed it.

WAN = Wide Area network i.e everything on the internet side of your router
