  • Here's my experience with the last 3 "cheap" TVs I have bought.

Bush 21" in 1997 - Died in 2001 - shop could not fix it for less than £25, so I binned it.

Alba 19" in 1999 - Died after 18 months. Binned it.

Bush 14" in Apr 2004 - Died in Nov 2004. Got a warranty exchange, still running.

I'll never buy cheap TVs again....
  • hey all,

Isn'nt it typical was watching tv in bed last night and there was a loud bang and then the picture went all wobbly and wavy. Still like it this morning!! Whats the chance of getting one of these today???? Probably not good i bet.
Divadee, you may have a chance as in my store most of the early people went for the satellite dish and other associated items. Not many were after the tvs at that time.

Thanks alot, I got a little toshiba one in the end exactly the same as this one from argos but for £49.99 at a local store. I thought that was a good price, and I am very happy with it. I called a couple of local lidls but didnt have much joy, couldnt be bothered to travel 20+ miles to get one (i know that lazy!!) :D

EDITED to remove a link that was me being a numpty :D

By the way whilst looking at tv's i noticed a 43inch plasma at argos for 399.99 i thought that was really cheap but not to clued up on all this plasma tv stuff!! It came with a nice stand as well. Is that a good price even though i havent heard of the brand?

It would be a good price if it was for a TV ;) however its only the stand that you are buying-Alphason are a quality brand for audio/visual furniture although £400 for a stand is excessive

Seems I was lucky then. Just got back from holiday and popped into lidl to stock up on supplies yesterday, noticed the tv's and bought one for my sons birthday next month.

Still 2 left in Romford store
