No, I am not going to get Direct Debit because I have a choice and I don't like Direct Debit!

Why do you not like Direct Debit? It offers more consumer & payment protection than any other method?!

Your nose off spite to face cutting your.

Rearrange into a well-known phrase or saying.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

What I think is unfair about BT's mode of operation is that they implore folks to switch their bills from 'paper' to 'online', but their 'reward' to the customer is in the guise of 'save the planet'.

Then when the customer pays their BT bill via online payment which bypasses an envelope opener and data processor, and saves BT the cost of overhead, staff, and labour, BT refuses to pass some of those savings to the customer via lower bills.

No, I am not going to get Direct Debit because I have a choice and I don't like Direct Debit!

I welcome the day when I can totally disconnect this dilapidated copper phone line, tell BT on yer bike mate, and switch to fibre Optic Cable for TV, Phone, and Broadband like they have in Europe and the USA.

There's Virgin Media cable, that's fibre optic until the cabinet, granted not yet fibre to the home or kerb. However they charge £5 per month for not paying by Direct Debit - £3.50 more per month than BT.

As I said before when BT inflated the line rental to cover the extra cost no one complained, as soon as BT broke the cost down, people complained, you should have been complaining for all the years the line rental was inflated.

It's usually because they are so used to living beyond their means and are useless at budgeting and money management, so always have their bank accounts running close to zero or their overdraft limit.

It's doesn't take much effort to learn some budgeting skills, however look at the people who say they prefer the pre-payment gas and electric meters - goes to show there are people out their who just can't manage money properly - maybe they should have taught this at more schools. Maybe these people should take up adult education.

    Mad get even dont get,

Rearange that, thats what I did.

Yeah I used to pay the extra by paying using online banking and I never minded those who got a discount then they decided to charge me.

So I clicked the direct debit box online and kept paying on time using online banking just as I always did.

Result I paid less and still paid the same way, thanks BT for a years savings.

Then I took all my calls away, loss to BT £30 - £70 a month, so he who laughs last is still laughing here :)

The processing charges are unfair but people have been to court with the wrong question.

Why does one processing fee cost £1.50 but the same one processing fee 2 months later cost £4.50? One has to be wrong (unfair).

BT phoned me up the other day asking if I would like free evening and weekend calls, I said I already have them :) they asked who I was with so I told them Primus, then I told them why they dont get any custom from me now.

So they try and charge me £1.50 a month, I find a way around it and BT lose everything, smart move BT upsetting long standing good payers all for 50p or was it £1 a month?
