Grrr... NatWest

I'm sick and tired of NatWest making charges to my accounts (which I query as they happen, and always get put right, but that's not the point!).

I have just checked my account. I was transferring some funds by DD just before the tax threshold to take advantage of my 07/08 ISA allowance, and they refused the transfer even though there were plenty of funds. I went into the bank on Friday to complain and demand that they get it sorted pretty damn quick!!! They sorted by doing a CHAPS transfer, but I've just checked it online... they charged me an additional £23 for the privilege. It was their mistake in the first place, and so I don't think I should be incurring that cost in order that they put it right.

But this keeps happening, and it's annoying and time-consuming. What's the best thing to do? Should I complain elsewhere? Should I just vote with my feet and move all my accounts (4 in all) somewhere else? I can't help but think that I'd have similar little annoyances wherever I went...

If the debt is made up of charges, dispute the debt with the collector and ask them to refer it back to the bank.

I telephoned NatWest today to complain about the charge (as per original post in this thread).

I was told the person that performed the transaction was unavailable. I was also told that my account manager (re-assigned without me being told) is a woman in another town. I asked why my account manager wasn't in the town where I live and work and that couldn't be answered. They were also unable to provide me with the telephone number for my account manager as they couldn't seem to locate it.

    Utterly useless.
