the 1600fsb speed seems very quick compared to the others. does this make a difference?

Higher FSB helps but their are many more factors involved in actual output speed .
Bit like having an empty three lane highway that runs into the most congested part of town .
AMD Turion does not have a particulary good reputation as opposed to Intels core due range .
