Cheapest etf commission site?

I've been given advice on here that hoodlessbrennan is a good site (£8 per trade), but just wondering if there was anywhere cheaper, preferably no commission at all! I'd only need to do around 1-2 per month.
Many thanks

i have just searched on here and found last few years selftrade offer free etf buys within an ISA. i have just set up this year's ISA with h-l unfortunately - dang! but can transfer my ISA cash from nationwide into selftrade if they are still doing this offer.
selftrade site isnt working right now though. boo!
edit: just realised i had to scroll down on their site. doesnt seem like they are doing it this year, the free etf buys. i can taste the bile in the back of my throat....
anyone know of any commission free site for etf purchasing?0 -
I just got this message from them in my account...
Purchases of ETFs (the 'iPlan')
The new Regular Investment Service provides a wider alternative to the 'iPlan' scheme we offered previously whereby ETFs could be purchased commission-free and which was due to cease on 5 April 2008. However, we have extended this offer for a brief period so that lump-sum investments into ETFs can be made commission-free until the close of business, Friday, 30 May 2008. Thereafter all ETF purchases will be charged at your normal dealing rate, unless made via the Regular Investment Scheme. The commission rate for this new service is £1.50 per purchase although we will waive the fee until September 2008.
I hope these options will prove useful to you in your new ISA
Soooooo, bit of a pain, but if you have a lump sum, or want to invest regularly then £1.50 a purchase isn't too bad. I'm having a look around, but so far it still looks like the best deal out there...0 -
Another option is the Motley Fool ShareBuilder

commision-free until 30 June0
