Cost to fit replacement radiators

Hi All

I have 6 x 3ft radiators in my house which are looking pretty sad and old/rusty. Rather than wait for them to leak I thought I'd get them replaced - before I enquire, can anyone on here advise me as to a reasonable cost range I should be looking for? All pipework etc is already there, it's just a case of fitting new radiators (+ draindown etc..!)

many thanks!!

I had three rads done last year - think one's about 6 foot, 2 about 3.5-4 foot?

Paid about £300 I think (not really sure, might have been less) in North Manchester.

    Hi

You could calculate part of the cost yourself by working out what rads you need.http://www.theradiatorcompany.com/heatoutput/
You might find new rads will not match the pipe centres you have.Extension pieces are available to make up the difference if you don't want to move pipes.

Four of our radiators are original from when I fitted them in March 1969 (39 years old)

The others have been replaced as the house has been altered but none of them leaked.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

    Hiya,

I had two replaced only a matter of weeks ago up here in Dundee and a local self employed plumber took £40 from me to do it and it never took that long either.

This included a replacement bit of copper piping for one of them about 2 1/2 feet long but we used the original thermostats.

I bought the radiators from B&Q during their 20% off sale.

Hope this helps. (Oh and before anyone asks I've not missed out a zero!)

Erm nope, is this someone who I should be aware / wary of in the future. (I'm curious as to he / she is so please tell me even by PM).

The guy who did mine was recommended to me by my tiler and it turned out he actually lives in the street behind me which was funny when he realised it. When he said he'd be there in 2 minutes, he literally was!
