Hi Bails, well done! £6 free money is excellent.

I've just rejigged my sig (again) and managed to fit in all of the interest beater figures. I've made the equivalent of 2.75% interest on my virtual £4000 (living allowance) so far this tax year. As bank rates plummet, our aim, on this challenge is to beat 6.5% - something that few of the ISAs are offering right now. In fact, I can't find ANY offering 6.5% for a single year account. Does that mean the Interest Beaters challenge could outstrip the official ISA? :rotfl:

I'd be interested in the proof reading too please. I'm thinking you have to have a qualification to do this but I could be wrong! Surely years of marking essays is good enough? ;)

Well done on your Ebay Sammy, and thanks for reminding me that I have some Ebay to add - £26 (minus fees which I haven't seen/worked out yet, and 4p extra on postage!).

Doh I just tried to write a reply and my DD managed to !!!!!! it. Let's try again.

I would be interested in the chat host thing and would be grateful any hints and tips as I have couple of hours spare in the evenings when DD is sleeping.

Have applied for AQA and am waiting for them to send me the test. Fingers crossed I pass the test and that I have some knowledget that they will want to pay me for.

This challenge is running from 6th April 2008 to 5th April 2009, so it's early days yet :) Our targets are the amount of interest we would have made if we had a full year's living expenses earning 6.5% interest in the bank. The object is to rasie that money without spending money and without it being part of what you would normally earn in the course of a normal day.

If you prefer, you can stick to the Government's official tax free cash savings allowance, which would earn you £234. Some of us have chosen £4000 because we are on challenge budgets of £4000.

Let me know your target amount and I'll get it added to post 1 and welcome to the challenge :)
