Hi all, not been on for a few days.
I have got nothing to update at the moment, probably why I've not been on...
I have taken the first step in starting up my ironing business. I have printed up a few flyers and some little business cards. I am going to do some dropping off when we get back off holiday.

Came across thread looking for discussions on BF trading, interesting read, good luck with it folks.
On the business cards side, Vistaprint give you "free" cards, return address labels etc - you choose from their stock of standard cards and they've got an advert for Vistaprint on the back but you only pay for the postage. Good budget cards, and CashbackKings are giving up to £ 4 cashback to offset against the postage costs.
Matched betting is a good tip that someone mentioned, including £ 135 cashback tracking, I'm up £ 533.86 since 28th March which is blitzing my stoozing profits. I put a powerpoint together on matched betting to help illustrate it to a friend, it covers all the theory and is easy to follow (I think), if anyone's interested PM me and I'll email it to you.

Cannyjock, thanks for that, another kick up the bum to get me going with it again.
Anyone win on the bingo last night/ still alive after the tedium of it all?The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

HI all,
Good news and bad news from yesterday. The story that I submitted was rejected but I did win £70 in bingo. The bingo win will go against my Olympic challenge so unfortunately my interest beater challenge is still a big fat zero. I will try to submit my story again and put a thinking hat on to figure out how I can crack this challenge.

Yay for the bingo!!!!:T
Bummer on the story. Who did you submit it to?0 -
Hi folks,
Well done to Marru on the £70 bingo win, sorry your story got rejected. After the tedium of making sure I collected all the free tickets I could yesterday, my entire 'swag bag' amounted to the grand total of £10! Still, it's a tenner tax free that I wouldn't have had and we did get a bit of a laugh whilst hiding in 'the stables' (part of Gala Country Club).
I've updated my signature and calculated the equivalent APR if winnings were interest on an ISA and I am more than half way to my target already, so am quite pleased about that. I've also taken a look at the matched betting and have been eyeing up a few shares, although I don't have the kind of money required to play that game seriously (and I know it isn't tax free).
Have a good weekend - I watch "Dirty, Sexy, Money" on a Friday night, just in case I can pick up some ideas for making millions, as well as how to cope with living whilst watching the kids spending sprees! :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.

Hi All,
I have now had my thinking hat on and I have come to a conclusion that I am doing (trying to do) too many things and that I really need to focus on what is most important and then allocate my time to that. So instead of thinking a new ways of earning money I admit here and now that I am going to cheat.
I have house full of books that I am selling in Amazon and was going to flock off the ones that are not worth listing in Amazon in eBay but now (thanks to Nyk) I am going to concentrate on selling them in ebid and what ever I can earn from them will go against this challenge.
So I am cheating as it is already part of my business but on the other hand most of those books have no value for me and what ever I can get is a plus. As you can see from my signature I have at the moment 379 titles that I can list to ebid and that number will icrease when I go through rest of my books (60% of 8,000).
Wish me luck!

Wow! 8000 books... that's a lot of books!
I have a pile of paperbacks but has anyone any constructive ideas for anything else thay could be used for other than reading? It seems sacrilege to bin them, bury them or burn them. Think I'll pop into the cottage industry thread and see if anyone has any ideas.I reserve the right not to spend.

It is indeed a lot of books, I've seen them!
Got ideas for hardbacks but not for paperbacks Nyk, be interested to know if you find a good use for them...
No progress here for this challenge yet, time seems to be focused on the GC, but I will get round to it I promise! The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Bails - what's your ideas for the hardbacks? They are so heavy that hardly anyone wants to pay postage for them even at silly prices.
Silvercharming - I never thought about deafening or insulation, I could start padding out DS's room to cut down the boom, boom, boom of the base on his music! :rotfl:
I have seen spines of hardback books attached to the front of window boxes then varnished so they look like bookshelves with flowers growng out the top. Really unusual and most effective, but I don't have the type of window sills suitable for window boxes, unfortunatley. I'd love window boxes! Think of the mini herb gardens I could get if I had a kitchen window box!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
